Quote of the Week: Strength

March 10, 2015 So, what’s it going to be? Are you going to take life lying down? Are you going to wallow in self-pity and self-misery? Orrrrrr…. Are you going to dig deep down inside for the strength that YOU know YOU have, and pull through whatever you’re going through? Stand tall! The choice is yours! Until next time, y’all… ~Hospitality Shero

Our Very Own Employee Saves a Condominium Resident from an Assault!

February 18, 2015 True story. One of our employees, who shall remain anonymous, was working in a luxury condo building when this crime took place. Mind you, he is one of our newest hires, just a few months with us, which makes this all the more special!!! So glad to have him as part of the team! The good ones are like diamonds in the rough! Original article, which was featured in the Washington Post, a major D.C. area newspaper: Concierge stops man lurking behind plant from assaulting woman A concierge came to the rescue Tuesday morning when a woman was assaulted by a man lurking in the vestibule of her apartment building. The 20-year-old woman stepped into the entrance way of her building in the 1900 block of Clarendon Boulevard at 8:05 a.m. to check whether her Uber driver had arrived, Arlington police spokesman Dustin Sternbeck said. A man who had been standing behind a potted bamboo plant in the vestibule grabbed her from behind. A concierge in the lobby of the building saw …

Quote of the Week

February 17, 2015 You ever had the opportunity to work in a group or on a team? Remember the experience(s)? There’s always that one group member who is slacking big time and holding up progress. So what happens? One of two things: either the whole team is penalized for the slacker’s slack (lol), or you all manage to get it done, but there’s a lot of animosity and anger at the end, when there should be excitement and relief. Back in undergrad school, in Corporate Finance, the professor actually gave us a project/paper to write. First and foremost, does anyone see ANYTHING wrong with having to write a PAPER in a Corporate Finance class???? Okay, I digress. Anyway, there were several parts to it, which included A LOT of calculations in Excel. Well, guess who ended up doing the first TWO parts because the first two group members kept crying about all the other work they had and how they didn’t understand anything, when all they had to do was ask for help (you know, …

Quote of the Week

February 10, 2015 Do you believe this to be true? Reflect on a time when someone made you very angry and took you to that level that you said you would never go again. Or how about that time when someone said something to you that really helped get you back on track….to the point where you were focused and knocking out goals left and right. Yes, different people DO awaken different beasts in you. The question is: which beast will you allow to be awakened? #positivity or #negativity Until next time… ~Hospitality Shero

Quote of the Week

January 27, 2015 Do you REALLY know what this quote means? Here’s a prime example: I HAD an insurance agent to provide for my business insurance needs. Had this company for a couple of years. Funny thing is, up until a couple of months ago, I hadn’t heard from my agent since I bought the policy with them. Let’s see, oh, that must have been almost FOUR YEARS AGO! Yep, you guessed correctly. They’re h-i-s-t-o-r-y! #unacceptable #failed_service Morale of the story? Your customers want to know that you see them as more than a sale. A buck. A contract. A commission. Take the time to really get to know your customers. Check in on them from time to time. Get updates on how well you and/or your company is performing. Find out if they’re happy, for goodness sake! You know what? I check in with my clients every two weeks, just to make sure all is well. If all is not well, then I can find out right away, instead of months down the line. …

Inspirational: Chick-fil-A Owner Declines Homeless Man’s Offer to Work For Food and Gives Him Something Even Better

January 21, 2015 Mark Meadows is no stranger to the public eye, but not because he wants attention. The local owner of a Birmingham, AL, Chick-fil-A, Meadows is known around those parts for being something of a Good Samaritan. Last year, for instance, when the “Snowpocalypse” blanketed parts of Alabama with snow and stranded motorists along Highway 280, Meadows distributed chicken sandwiches and chicken biscuits free of charge to drivers stuck in their cars. And last Wednesday, when a young man came in from the cold and asked if he could do some chores in exchange for food, Meadows didn’t hesitate to help. A customer caught the incident, snapped a photo, uploaded it to Facebook, and has made Meadows famous once again for his generous heart: The caption below the photo reads: “I’m a Chick-fil-A fan and have been for years. I trust the food for my son and support companies that are founded on Christian beliefs. What I saw today just confirms why this chain is so successful — God blesses His people. My son …

Quote of the Week!

December 2, 2014 Do YOU look at your experiences and mistakes in this way? If not, you SHOULD! How will you ever learn if you do not make mistakes? Remember all the inventions that were NOT accomplished on the first try. Many mistakes were made before success occurred. Keep making those mistakes so you can gain the experience you need! Until next time… ~Hospitality Shero
