Photo of the Week: Biggest Wave Yet?!

March 5, 2015

Wow! Just breathtaking!

Have you EVER seen a “normal” wave of this size? I’m not talking about tsunami waves. Those don’t count, so don’t go there. Lol

Seriously, is this cool, or what? For you daredevils and adventurers…can you imagine standing there, watching this wave get closer and closer to you? Does it give you a nice big thrill? For someone who can’t swim, and almost drowned at a young age, this both amazes and terrifies me!

What do you think? Something you’d LOVE to get up close and personal with? Or, if you’re like me, would you rather be at a nice comfortable distance, enjoying the view?

Until next time, y’all…

PS Thanks to Diogo for drawing attention to the record-breaking surfer in the picture. Apparently, I missed him! Lol #shameful! He’s amazing, nonetheless.

  1. This was taken in Nazare, Portugal 😀 They always have big waves there, this photo plays a lot with perspective and field of vision, the wave looks huge (and it is!) because we can’t see the horizon 🙂

    • Thank you, Diogo, for checking this out. I found this picture on Stumble Upon, but lost it before I could copy the additional info. Glad to know someone is very familiar with the area!

      • My pleasure! 🙂 I knew the name of the photographer but I forgot! But I know that the guy surfing is called Garrett McNamara and he broke some world record, the wave was almost 24 meters tall! it was all over the news over here 😀
